Server products are applications which make process data available to other applications via the programming interfaces defined by the OPC specifications. Server products must implement all mandatory elements of the OPC specifications since they must meet the needs of many different client applications. Server products are certified with compliance test tools and may also be tested at the interoperability workshops. Device or network protocol drivers are examples of server products.
